When you use FlyBy, we collect:
- Account data — name, email address, profile photo
- Profile data — job title, company, bio, travel preferences
- Flight data — airport, destination, flight number, gate, departure time
- Usage data — connections made, messages sent, features used
2. How We Use Your Information
- To match you with other travelers at your airport
- To display your profile to other members you may connect with
- To send service notifications (e.g. new connections, flight alerts)
- To improve the safety and quality of the service
3. What Others Can See
Your profile — including name, photo, job title, company, intents, and flight details you choose to enter — is visible to other active FlyBy members at your airport. You control your visibility via the “Visible in Lounge” toggle in your profile.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Infrastructure providers (Supabase, DigitalOcean) necessary to operate the service
- Law enforcement when required by law or to protect safety
5. Data Retention
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all profile data, messages, connections, and flight information are permanently deleted within 30 days.
6. Security
We use industry-standard security practices including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is perfectly secure; use FlyBy with appropriate care.
7. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data via your profile settings
- Delete your account and all associated data at any time
- Object to certain processing of your data
8. Cookies
FlyBy uses session cookies to keep you signed in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.
9. Children
FlyBy is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us immediately.
10. Changes
We may update this policy periodically. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email. Continued use after notice constitutes acceptance.
